At SweetGrass Trading Company, we’re proud to support Native American entrepreneurs and artisans who bring tradition, innovation, and heart to everything they create. We’re thrilled to introduce our newest vendor, Puyallup Chocolates, a Native-owned company crafting premium confections rooted in the spirit and heritage of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians.

Formerly known as Emily’s Chocolates, Puyallup Chocolates represents a return to roots and a celebration of the Tribe’s legacy of generosity, community, and abundance. Based in the heart of Washington State, the company creates high-quality, handcrafted chocolates that honor the land and stories of the Puyallup people. Each piece is a delicious invitation to savor life’s sweet moments and share in a culture built on connection.

Among their irresistible offerings now available through SweetGrass is the Dark Chocolate Covered Cherries—indulge in the perfect balance of rich, 54% cacao dark chocolate and sweet, tart cherries. Crafted without any artificial flavors or colors, these decadent treats deliver a naturally bold flavor in every bite. Shop them here.

We’re honored to collaborate with another Native-owned business that shares our values of authenticity, community support, and cultural pride. Together, we’re working to expand the reach of Native-made products, bringing them to a wider audience that appreciates both the quality and the stories behind each item.

“Puyallup Chocolates is grateful for the opportunity to partner with SweetGrass and to be part of their celebration of Native goods,” Hannah Billmaier, Director of Sales, said. “We believe that sharing chocolate is about more than just the treat; it’s about creating joyful, meaningful connections. Collaborations like this help us reach more people with that message while honoring the Puyallup Tribe’s legacy of generosity and community.”

You can now find a selection of Puyallup Chocolates on our online store—perfect for gifting, sharing, or simply enjoying a sweet moment for yourself.
