Wrapping Up 2024: A Year of Growth and Gratitude

As we close out 2024, SweetGrass Trading Company reflects on a year full of growth, connection, and shared successes. This year has been a testament to the power of community, and we are filled with gratitude for the customers, vendors, and partners who made it all possible.

One of our proudest accomplishments in 2024 was welcoming five new vendors to our store, enriching our offerings with more authentic, high-quality Native-American-made products. These collaborations not only expanded our inventory but also provided a platform to showcase the creativity and craftsmanship of Indigenous makers.

In supporting the next generation, we were thrilled to award a $1,200 scholarship to Aaliyah Chappell, a Native American student and computer science major at the University of Washington Bothell. Aaliyah’s determination and academic pursuits inspire us, and we’re honored to play a small role in her journey toward success.

Our sister company, Tribal Tea Co., also made a significant impact by donating over $1,800 to the Winnebago Public Health Department. This contribution, generated through tea sales, helps support vital health initiatives that benefit the local community.

Another meaningful highlight of 2024 was the opportunity to discuss Native American food sovereignty with students at Morningside University’s Food and Religion Class. Sharing these important topics helps foster understanding and respect for Indigenous traditions and contemporary efforts to maintain sustainable food systems.

As we look ahead to 2025, we’re excited about the opportunities to deepen our impact and continue building meaningful connections. SweetGrass Trading Company remains committed to supporting Indian Country, preserving cultural traditions, and promoting economic empowerment through our work.

The holiday season brought us immense joy and success, thanks to our loyal customers. Your support during this special time of year allowed us to share Native-American-made gifts and wellness items with even more homes across the country.
