SweetGrass Trading Company products are now available for purchase inside the Sweetwater Café at WarHorse Casino in Omaha. The café, which opened nearly two years ago as a fast-casual spot for cold and hot drinks and deli items, has become a central stop for casino visitors looking for a quick but quality option.

Now, visitors can also browse a dedicated display of Native-made goods while enjoying the café. The collection features items such as Passamaquoddy Maple Syrup, Apple Canyon Gourmet Salsa, Red Lake Nation Chokecherry Jelly, sage bundles, cookbooks, tea, and more. Each product was chosen to represent the diversity of Native food and wellness items, while also showcasing some of SweetGrass Trading Company’s most popular sellers.

For WarHorse Casino and the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, bringing SweetGrass products into this space creates an opportunity to share Native culture with a broader customer base. Offering these items inside a busy casino café allows thousands of guests to experience the quality and creativity of Native producers, many of whom run small businesses rooted in their communities.

Carol DeJong, who manages special projects at WarHorse Casino, helped create the display. “When the opportunity came up to dedicate space to Native products, SweetGrass was the natural fit. The variety of items lets us share the stories and contributions of Native businesses with our guests in a meaningful way.”

The response has already been encouraging, and the selection will continue to grow and change as new items are introduced. By offering SweetGrass products in such a visible, high-traffic location, WarHorse Casino is helping expand awareness and support for Native-owned businesses while giving visitors a unique way to connect with culture during their experience.

WarHorse Gaming is a division of Ho-Chunk, Inc., the award-winning economic development corporation of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.
