Five products to combat spring allergies

Young adult woman coughing and sneezing outdoors. Sick people allergy or virus influenca concept.

The weather is warming up, the birds are singing, and Spring is in the air…but so is the pollen that causes uncomfortable symptoms such as a runny, itchy nose, coughing and watery eyes. Luckily, we have quite a few products that can help relieve some of those symptoms, so you can get out and enjoy the sunshine without being miserable! Below are five products we recommend to help relieve seasonal allergies.

Clean the air with sage

Sage is an antimicrobial and antibacterial, which can fend off bacteria, mold, and certain viruses. Burning sage also releases negative ions into the air, which neutralizes positive ions such as pet dander, pollen, and other harmful chemicals. We do recommend learning about the proper use of sage and its historical significance for Native people.

Support immunity with honey

Just one teaspoon of local honey per day can help boost your immune system and help fight allergies and illness. The phytonutrients in honey boast antioxidant, antibacterial and antifungal properties. Drop a teaspoon in a cup of hot tea for an extra immune system boost!

Calm inflammation with elderberry

Elderberry has been gathered and used for centuries for its sweet flavor and natural health qualities. Elderberry has been known to ease inflammation and calm the immune system. Elderberries are also rich in the flavonoid quercetin, which has an antihistamine effect. Try our Seka Hills elderberry balsamic vinegar in your next salad or dessert!
