January can be the perfect time to slow down, reset, and explore new flavors without alcohol. Mocktails can be just as satisfying as cocktails, especially when you use Native-made ingredients from SweetGrass Trading Company. A few simple tweaks with tea, honey, and berry syrups can turn an ordinary drink into something special.

Berry-forward tea mocktail
Start with Tribal Tea Co. Elderberry Currant loose-leaf tea. Brew it strong and let it cool. Pour over ice, then add a splash of sparkling water for a lightly effervescent drink. Sweeten with Ioway Bee Farm honey sticks—blueberry or raspberry honey works beautifully, or try cinnamon honey for a warm, cozy twist. Finish with a teaspoon of Red Lake Nation Chokecherry Syrup for a tart, rich berry note.

Citrus and sparkle
For a bright, refreshing drink, mix sparkling water with fresh lemon or orange juice. Sweeten with honey, then add a dash of chokecherry syrup to layer in unexpected depth. Try dropping frozen berries or herbs like mint or thyme into the glass for a festive touch.

Warm winter sips
A warm mocktail can be perfect for quiet winter evenings. Simmer tea with a spoonful of honey and a drizzle of chokecherry syrup for a comforting, aromatic drink. You could also use a bit of Passamaquoddy Maple Amber Maple Syrup. This is simple, cozy, and entirely alcohol-free while still feeling special and indulgent.

Dry January is about taking care of yourself and exploring what makes you feel good. Using high-quality, Native-made ingredients makes your mocktails feel thoughtful and delicious. With just a little creativity, you can enjoy festive, flavorful drinks without the alcohol.
