The I-Collective is releasing a multimedia, digital cookbook featuring recipes, videos, stories and more from Indigenous chefs and community members. The cookbook will also feature supplemental webinars to help teach community members about the importance of food sovereignty and traditional food systems for Indigenous peoples.

The goal and purpose of this project is to create meaningful conversations among community members and share the history and importance of Indigenous foods from all over the world.

According to the organization’s website, the I-Collective is “an autonomous group of Indigenous chefs, activists, herbalists, seed, and knowledge keepers, the I-Collective strives to open a dialogue and create a new narrative that highlights not only historical Indigenous contributions, but also promotes our community’s resilience and innovations in gastronomy, agriculture, the arts, and society at large.”

The group is accepting applications for community members, scholars, activists, writers, artists and knowledge keepers to help create content for the cookbook. All topics relevant to Indigenous Food Sovereignty will be considered, with priority given to upcoming issue topics/ingredients.
